What is DPP?

THE EU'S
MANDATORY
PRODUCT IDENTITY
SYSTEM

A Digital Product Passport (DPP) is a standardised digital record linked to a physical product via a GS1 QR code. It contains the product's full lifecycle information — from materials and origin to recycling instructions.

Introduced under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), DPP is not optional. Without a certified DPP, your product cannot legally enter the EU market.

A DPP is a machine-readable, GS1 Digital Link-anchored record that any customs officer, retailer, or consumer can verify in a single scan.

What a DPP contains
Unique product identifier
GS1 Digital Link resolvable to a GTIN and optional serial or batch, so every physical unit maps to a single canonical record.
Material composition
Fibres, substances, components, and hazardous-substance flags aligned to REACH and ESPR reporting fields.
Environmental performance
Carbon footprint, recyclability, durability, and repairability scores per the applicable delegated act.
Repairability & end-of-life
Disassembly guidance, spare-parts availability, take-back routes, and recycling instructions.
Compliance certificates
Declarations of conformity, test reports, and third-party certifications with cryptographic proof of authenticity.
Country of origin
Tier-0 to Tier-3 supply-chain provenance, with the option to keep upstream data private while satisfying audit requirements.

Why Cradox

The only DPP platform that collects data from your suppliers — without forcing them to sign up.

Every DPP platform can format a passport once you have the data. Nobody else helps you get the data.

Cradox's Magic Link is a password-less, account-free workflow: you paste your suppliers' emails, they receive a link, they upload their CSV or fill a web form, done.

No portal, no license fee, no supplier-portal fatigue.

Magic Link supplier workflow
Tier-2 and Tier-3 suppliers submit data without adopting software. No competitor offers a comparably frictionless flow.
Dual-layer data architecture
Public compliance disclosures separated from private trade secrets. Meet ESPR audit requirements without exposing your supply-chain edge.
Anti-lock-in by design
Versioned JSON schema exports on every plan. Your data belongs to you.
